INTRODUCTION

This training course offers full five days of intensive "immersion" to Level 2 advanced TRIZ and Systematic Innovation. The course contents was developed on the basis of over 25 years of experience with performing TRIZ training and consulting projects within diverse industries. The course provides learning and mastering practical skills with advanced TRIZ techniques which are usually not learned during introductory and basic TRIZ training, and which help with dealing with most challenging innovative tasks on developing new and improving existing products and technologies.

The course is intended for those who want to learn TRIZ at the advanced level and incorporate its techniques to everyday use.

The course explains in detail such advanced TRIZ tools as:

  • Function Analysis of processes and Functional-Ideal Modeling (also known as Trimming) - a technique for simplifying systems and processes without losing quality and performance;
  • In-depths study of Root Conflict Analysis (RCA+): a technique to extract and structure contradictions underlying inventive problems.
  • Substance-Field Modeling and a system of 76 Inventive Standards and  for sharpened inventive problem solving.
  • Alternative Systems Merging (Feature Transfer): creating new breakthrough products through transferring and merging seemingly incompatible features of alternative competing products.
  • Introduction to Laws and Trends of Technical Systems Innovative Development, understanding evolution of technical systems and products.
  • Understanding features of each stage of S-Curve and S-Jumps.

The course also provides introduction to the Algorithm of Solving Inventive Problems (ARIZ). The course includes intensive practical work with real-world problems brought by the participants.

The course is highly interactive and focuses on practice. During the course, the actual problems are solved.

The course is conducted in English and in most cases involves international audience from different countries.

PROGRAM AND CONTENTS

The program of the course completely matches requirements and contents of the International TRIZ Association (MATRIZ) for certification of Level 2:

  • Fundamentals of Advanced TRIZ. TRIZ as a theory for innovation front-end and as a collection of tools and techniques to support correct problems formulation and new ideas generation in a systematic way.
  • Roadmap to advanced TRIZ techniques.
  • Understanding product and process evolution via innovative problem solving.
  • Tool: Advanced Root-Conflict Analysis (RCA+) for in-depth investigation of causes of inventive problems and extracting, structuring and formulating technical and physical contradictions underlying the problem.
  • Introduction to TRIZ-based Function Analysis of Processes.
  • Practice with TRIZ-based Function Analysis of Processes.
  • Tool: Functional Idealization (Trimming): increasing benefits/costs ratio of processes.
  • Substance-Field Modeling to build abstract models of various problems in unified way.
  • Tool: 76 Inventive Standards: a structured collection of practical techniques on eliminating negative and improving positive effects within products and processes.
  • Practice with Substance-Field Modeling and Inventive Standards on customer's problems.
  • Tool: Alternative Systems Merging (Feature Transfer): a technique of inventing new breakthrough products based on competing system principles.
  • Practice with Alternative Systems Merging (Feature Transfer).
  • Introduction to the system of TRIZ Laws, Trends and lines of Technology Evolution.
  • Models of TRIZ technology evolution, uneven evolution of systems and technologies
  • Stages of S-curve evolution, features of each stage. Major indicators and recommendations of the four stages of the S-Curve.
  • Introduction to the Algorithm of Solving Inventive Problems (ARIZ): logic ARIZ, explanation of major concepts, structure, and working principles, resolving physical contradictions, fighting mental inertia. Overview of a problem solving process with ARIZ.
  • Overview of additional advanced tools of TRIZ and xTRIZ.
  • Place of TRIZ in modern innovation.
  • TRIZ Implementation aspects.

Throughout the course:

  • Practicing in groups on actual problems and challenges
  • Questions and Answers, Discussions.
