Modern educational systems are built upon a model of teaching known facts, methods and algorithms to children. As a result, the children accumulate a lot of diverse knowledge and acquire abilities to deal with standard methods, techniques and tools.  However, too little attention is paid to developing those thinking skills which let children think out of the box, develop logical, abstract and creative thinking, cope with conflicts and non-typical problems. In the times of accelerated competition and growing necessity to produce new ideas continuously, such thinking skills become crucial to achieve success in life and build a preferred future.

A mission of OTSM-TRIZ is to bridge a gap between standard education and developing power thinking skills. Developed during 20 years of research and extensive practical applications, it offers a new framework for kids education. OTSM-TRIZ for kids consists of a number of programs, methods and tools which enable children, teenagers and young adults from ages 3 to 21 to develop their creative imagination, accelerate search for new breakthrough ideas, better cope with complexity of modern world, solve non-standard problems, and considerably improve decision making.

OTSM-TRIZ is based on two components: TRIZ (Theory of Solving Inventive Problems), a breakthrough discipline developed by Genrich Altshuller, which introduces a scientifically-grounded approach to innovation and solving inventive problems; and OTSM (a General Theory of Powerful Thinking), developed by Nikolai Khomenko in cooperation with his associates under guidance by  Altshuller, which introduces a number of new models of powerful thinking and a number of tools and techniques which help considerably with development of powerful thinking skills.
