WHAT
ARE RCA+ AND VCM? |
The course offers
learning and mastering practical skills with two tools which
enhance analytical phases of solving specific inventive problems
and structuring and discovering opportunities for strategic
innovation roadmapping.
Root-Conflict Analysis
(RCA+) is further extension of Cause and Effect Analysis which
enables structuring and decomposition of a specific inventive
problem to a tree of manageable contradictions. RCA+ helps to better
understand and formulate the inventive problem as well as discover
more resources for problem solving. RCA+ is domain-independent
method and can be used in both technology and business.
Value Conflict Mapping
(VCM) is an analytical tool to extract so-called "blocking
contradictions" which prevent further evolution of a technical or
business system. VCM is based on matching market demands against
existing values of system parameters responsible for meeting current
and future demands. The result of the VCM analysis is a tree of
ranked blocking contradictions that can be further used in
short-term and strategic innovation plans and roadmaps. VCM is
domain-independent method and can be used in both technology and
business.
Although RCA+ and
VCM were created within the program of further development of
the TRIZ tools, these methods can provide added value to
analyzing and structuring innovative problems and opportunities
independently from other TRIZ tools.
